Bestway scoops five awards for its own-label range

    Bestway MD, Dawood Pervez

Bestway Wholesale, the UK’s largest independent wholesaler, has scooped five awards at the CCM’ Own Brand Awards, which are run in association with, and judged by, the Craft Guild of Chefs.

Bestway, who has an impressive own brand range under best-one, came out top in the following categories:

    • Nut Spreads Category: Best-One Crunchy Peanut Butter
    • Preserves Category: Best-One Pineapple Jam
    • Pickles Category: Best-One Silverskin Onions
    • Soft Drinks Category: Best-One Isotonic Drink Cherry
    • Confectionery: Bestway Buddies £1 Sweet Range

“Own-label brands are increasingly seen as an attractive option for consumers representing value and quality and our team has been hugely committed to the ongoing development of our best-one range to ensure we continue to deliver fresh innovation,” said Dawood Pervez, Managing Director at Bestway Wholesale.

“We’re delighted that our range has been recognised by the judging team which includes the highly respected Craft Guild of Chefs, with no less than five wins, as own-label products are a significant and important part of our business.

“Increasingly, consumers are turning to own-label within the cost-of-living crisis. I can report that we have seen an increase of nine per cent YOY in volume on own label products specifically on core cupboard essentials.”

Martin Lovell, Publishing Director at CCM said: “We know the care and passion that goes into creating a successful own brand. It doesn’t just happen by magic: development chefs and supply partners work hard to bring exceptional products of excellent quality and great value to market – products that are driven by customer need and provide innovation in many categories.

“These awards give cash & carries and delivered wholesalers whose own-brand products hit the mark the recognition they deserve, with endorsement from the Craft Guild of Chefs – the leading chefs’ association in the UK – who conduct the judging in blind tastings.

“Congratulations to Bestway on such an impressive win across five competitive categories.”
