The Fed offers discounted price on Eskuta e-bikes with new deal

The Federation of Independent Retailers has today announced a new partnership with leading e-mobility brand Eskuta.

The deal offers the Fed members the opportunity to electrify their delivery service with an exclusive £300 saving on the SX-250 e-bike.

With fuel prices at an all-time high, the newly announced deal will come as a warmly welcomed option for many convenience store owners who are looking to start or expand their current grocery delivery service whilst reducing their fuel costs and carbon footprint, the trade body noted.

The offer will mean members of the Fed will be able to purchase one of Eskuta’s electric delivery bikes for £1350 plus VAT compared to the RRP of £1662 plus VAT.

Established in 2015, Nuneaton based e-mobility brand Eskuta have fast become one of the leading e-cargo bike manufacturers in the UK.

The bike itself is built using motorcycle grade components, giving it a robustness perfect for delivery, yet it is legally classified as an EAPC or Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle, meaning it is subject to the same laws as a regular pedal cycle and can be ridden anywhere a regular pedal cycle is permitted too. Importantly, this means no sitting in traffic and, therefore, quicker delivery times.

The SX-250’s EAPC status also means it does not require any tax, licence or insurance to ride, so the bike can be ridden by anyone over the age of 16.

The custom branding option that can be applied to the bike itself, as well as the delivery box, also means that whenever the bike is out and about, so too is the store’s logo.

“Demand from customers for convenience stores to offer a delivery service is higher than ever and is fast becoming an important revenue stream, so we are delighted to be able to offer Fed members this exclusive deal,” Ian O’Connor, Eskuta Managing Director, said.

“An Eskuta e-bike provides a cost effective, sustainable and, importantly, easily scalable solution for independent retailers to expand their business and offer this service to their local community.

“Our aim is to empower store owners to take control of their own delivery service and not rely on costly third-party companies. This means retailers retain their profit margins, which in turn means they can scale their delivery service and maximise their store’s exposure through the branding of the bikes in their local area.”

Jason Birks, the Fed’s national president, added: “This is another great deal for Fed members. With fuel prices rising all the time, an e-bike can save retailers a lot of money on deliveries – and it is good for the planet.”

National deputy vice president Mo Razzaq who has bought one of the bikes through the Fed deal with Eskuta said:“The SX-250 e-bike is really good. It’s quicker on deliveries because you don’t have to find a parking space and you can take short cuts. It saves around 40 per cent in time on deliveries.

“It’s an absolute bargain when you compare it to the running costs of a car or van. One year of petrol costs will pay for the bike, and you are also saving the environment.”
