Unitas appoints Cheryl Hope as new trading director

    Cheryl Hope

Unitas Wholesale has appointed Cheryl Hope to the newly created role of Director of Trading and Development.

Reporting to Aoife Kenny, the newly appointed Commercial Director, Hope will be responsible for a number of strategic projects including the development of the group’s new out of home trading strategy.

Both Kenny and Hope join from A F Blakemore and Son, where Hope held the position of head of trading. Kenny has been serving as the interim head of foodservice at the SPAR wholesaler.

Hope brings with her a wealth of experience gained in senior roles across retail and foodservice in organisations such as Bako Ltd, Poundland, Iceland, Costcutter and the Co-op.

Commenting on the appointment, John Kinney, managing director of Unitas Wholesale, said “I am delighted to welcome Cheryl to Unitas at such an important time in our development as we continue to re-shape Unitas to become a more member-centric organisation, that seeks to excel in every area we operate in.

“Cheryl will be an excellent addition to our business and has the skills and experience that we are looking for to develop our Out of Home offer for our members”.

Hope will join Unitas in June.
