Tata Consumer Products has announced the appointment of Gharry Eccles as president of its international business division.

Taking charge on 17 January, Eccles will be based in Greenford, London.

He replaces Adil Ahmad who will be retiring at the end of May after seven years with the company, which unites the principal food and beverage interests of the Tata Group under one umbrella.

“During his tenure, Adil led several initiatives to strengthen the International Business and deliver strong performance across key markets. Gharry will work closely with Adil over the next several months to ensure a smooth and seamless transition,” the company said in a statement.

Eccles joins from Cereal Partners Worldwide, a joint venture between Nestle and General Mills, where he has been serving as vice president, with business responsibility for the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

He has a wealth of experience in consumer products from organisations such as PZ Cussons PLC, Muller Dairy Ltd, The Wrigley Company and Kimberly Clarke, Europe.

Tata Consumer Products is the second largest branded tea company in the world, and its portfolio of products also includes coffee, water, RTD, salt, pulses, spices, ready-to-cook and ready to eat offerings, breakfast cereals, snacks and mini meals, with brands like Tetley, Eight O’Clock Coffee, and Himalayan Natural Mineral Water, among others.
