Symington’s, the Leeds-based branded meal and snack manufacturer, has announced the appointment of Christian Boulter and Henry Breese as joint chief executives.

Currently serving as sales director and finance director respectively, Boulter and Breese replace David Cox who decided to step down as chief executive.

“Having transitioned Symington’s into Newlat’s ownership, David Cox felt the time was right to step down as CEO and look for a new challenge. We would like to take this opportunity to thank David for his contribution to the business and wish him well in the future,” the company said in a statement.

In August last year, Italian international ambient and dairy business Newlat Food has bought Symington’s, whose brands include Mug Shot, Naked (Naked Noodle, Naked Rice, Naked Soups), Twistd, The Hungry Elephant, Chicken Tonight and Ragu.

Symington’s also operates in the ambient food sector, across multiple grocers and convenience, both in the UK and internationally.

Boulter and Breese will be reporting into Newlat’s executive chairman Giuseppe Mastrolia.

“Together they will put in place the exciting investment plans that are lined up for the coming year,” the company said.

Symington’s also announced the promotion of national account controller Conall Kelly as sales director.
