RH Amar charity prize draw returns in time for Christmas

MD Rob Amar and Brand Manager, Nerene Willis, who picked the winning charities

Ambient food importer, distributor and brand owner, RH Amar, has announced the winners of its second charity prize draw with donations to be made to four winning charities.

The first RH Amar Charity Prize Draw took place last year to mark the family-owned company’s 75th anniversary. As then, RH Amar customers and brand partners were this year invited to nominate a charity of their choice to be included in the draw. The prize draw fund of £25,000 has been shared between four winning charities.

“Our charity prize draw last year was intended to be a one off to mark our 75th anniversary, however it felt like the right thing to repeat it this year with nominations again from our brand partners and customers,” said Rob Amar, MD. “Some wonderful nominations for wide-ranging and worthy charities were put forward and we are delighted to be making donations to the four charities chosen at the draw.’

Rob Amar and RH Amar Brand Manager, Nerene Willis, picked the winning charities which were:

    – Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, nominated by Unitas Wholesale (£10,000)
    – The Belazu Foundation, nominated by Belazu Ingredient Company (£5,000)
    – Prostate Cancer UK, nominated by McClures (£5,000)
    – The DPJ Foundation, nominated by Harlech Foodservice (£5,000)

Samantha Wood, Head of Fundraising at Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice said: “We are so honoured and privileged to have been nominated by Unitas Wholesale to be entered into the RH Amar charity prize draw. To hear that we have been chosen to receive £10,000 is just incredible!”

Anita Oakhill, Head of Marketing for Unitas Wholesale said: “Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice is a fantastic regional charity which support children, and their families, with life limiting conditions both in the hospice and out in the community. The hospice has to raise in excess of £5 million annually to operate, of which around only 17 per cent comes from the government, so this amazing charitable contribution on the part of RH Amar is so gratefully received and will be put to very good use in supporting the children and families that use the hospice.”
