Wrights Food Group new hospitality sponsor for Crewe Alexandra

Food giant Wrights Food Group is announcing a sponsorship hat trick for Crewe Alexandra as it becomes the club’s official hospitality champion.

The Crewe-based manufacturer is sponsoring the former Carlsberg Lounge, renamed the Wrights Lounge, providing pitch-side advertising, and is the new, official pie supplier to the ground.

Crewe Alexandra head of commercial, James Beckett, said the support is welcomed by the club as the coronavirus lockdowns have impacted on all corners of the community.

“This really is a perfect partnership for Crewe Alexandra as two local giants come together for the good of our community – and never was such commitment to and confidence in the club more welcome than now,” said James.

“Wrights’ investment is particularly timely because the Covid-19 pandemic continues to have a real impact on football clubs across the country. To have their support at this time is absolutely fantastic and gives the fans even more to look forward to when they can come back into the ground.”

He added: “It’s important to us to work with local businesses and as our new provider of match day hospitality, Wrights is committing to supporting the future spectator and visitor experience. We couldn’t be happier to work as one team to support the club, the players and importantly, the fans.”

Wrights Food Group supplies its pies to a third of all clubs in the Football League, ensuring that during normal circumstances pies are delivered at stadiums before kick off. The Wrights range includes meat & potato and chicken & mushroom pies and its steak & ale and Balti pies are among its in-stadium, football season best-sellers.

Wrights Food Group commercial director Helen Bowyer added: “During these continuing difficult times, sport has never been more important to local communities and families. Crewe Alexandra is a huge part of this town’s culture, economy and local pride.”
