CSM sells European and international ingredients business

CSM Bakery Solutions has announced the sale of its European and international bakery ingredients business to investment group Investindustrial.

The business, rechristened as CSM Ingredients, is expected to benefit from the strong experience and business partnerships of Investindustrial, with a renewed focus on ingredients, food innovation and sustainability.

“Thanks to the great work done in the past decades, we are perfectly placed to continue to play a leading role to support the evolution of food because we love ingredients, and we will fully focus on it,” Aldo Uva, who took charge as chief executive on Monday (19 April), said.

CSM Ingredients in UK will retain its local teams represented by Ivor McKane and the business will continue in a dedicated and professional manner with high quality products and trusted services of Arkady and Craigmillar.

The business is a leading supplier of quality ingredients with a wide range across bakery fats, pastry and bread ingredients as well as food solutions for multiple industrial applications in bakery, dairy, non-dairy and the ice cream industry, serving artisanal and industrial bakers, global foodservice operators and retail chains in more than 100 countries.

To mark the new beginning, the company is investing and nurturing a CSM Ingredients forest in collaboration with Tree Nation, a worldwide operating non-profit organisation. Across Europe, Africa and Asia, one tree will be planted for every single employee, supporting both the environment and the local communities.
