Detectives have appealed for witnesses after two men robbed a shop following a scuffle with a customer.

The incident happened at the store on Aspley Lane in Beechdale, Nottingham at around 10pm on 26 August.

The offenders, one carrying a knife, threatened the staff and ordered them to wait outside with one of the offenders.

The other then went in and took cash, before having a struggle with a customer in store.

“Response officers were quick to the scene and swiftly made enquiries which have resulted in substantial leads on this case and my team will continue our robust investigation,” said Detective Inspector Ruby Burrow of Nottinghamshire Police.

Burrow urged anyone with information related to the incident to come forward.

“We will not tolerate any kind of burglary or robbery offences in Nottinghamshire and we are keen to hear from anyone who might have seen anything suspicious in the area around the time this happened.”

Anyone who saw what happened or have any information that could help could call on 101 quoting incident 819 of 26 August, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
