Bestway to support children’s charity Barnado’s with Ascot charity race day

Bestway has announced that it will be supporting children’s charity Barnardo’s this year through its annual Charity Race Day.

Hosted by Bestway at Ascot every year since 1995, the event is the largest corporate event in the Ascot calendar.

The wholesaler said  many of its industry suppliers across retail, catering and pet will attend the event, alongside Bestway employees and members of Barnado’s.

The charity, founded in 1866, works amongst the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people. It was the chosen charity of the event earlier in 2007.

“We are delighted to support the work of Barnardo’s this year in recognition of the charity’s immensely valuable work,” commented Lord Zameer Choudrey, chief executive of Bestway Group.

Now in its 27th year, the Bestway Charity Race Day has raised £2.6 million to date, supporting over 20 charities.

Dawood Pervez,  managing director of Bestway Wholesale, said: “We are grateful to all of our supplier partners who continue to support this event every year. The event is a great opportunity to bring colleagues from across the wholesale industry together in celebration of a great cause and we are pleased to see that after 27 years, this event is grounded into the wholesale industry calendar.”

Tickets to the event, to be held on 19 June, will go on sale across the industry at the end of this month.
