Retailers urged to register for National Doughnut Week

CSM Bakery Solutions, which sponsors the National Doughnut Week, has urged the retailers to officially register for the event.

The week, to he held on 9-16 May, raises funds for The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury.

Retailers who register to get involved with the fundraising will receive a special pack full of promotional materials from CSM. The firm also offers a range of products from Baker & Baker and Craigmillar.

CSM said offers and deals will be revealed closer to the week.

The event has been running for 29 years, after being launched in 1991 by independent baker, Christopher Freeman.

“It is a seasonal event that our staff in the bakery and our retail teams look forward to during the year,” said Welsh bakers Jenkins Bakeries.

“Not only is it a great opportunity to showcase our superb range of doughnuts but also to support The Children’s Trust. We look forward to supporting again in 2020.”

Last year, £32,532 was raised for The Children’s Trust during National Doughnut Week with the help of hundreds of independent bakers, cafes and shops who sold doughnuts for the charity.
