United Wholesale Scotland raises awareness of GroceryAid in Day-Today stores

In their effort to support convenience channel and its staff, United Wholesale Scotland has partnered with GroceryAid to raise awareness of their vital services amongst its network of Day-Today stores across Central Scotland.

As announced today (20) by Symbol Group Controller at Day-Today Naeem Khaliq, the group’s dedicated Business Development Managers have undertaken a comprehensive rollout, conducting in-person visits to the majority of its stores.

Khaliq wrote on social media, “These face-to-face interactions fostered a positive and informative environment, allowing our BDMs to directly connect with store staff and owners. This personalized approach ensured a clear understanding of GroceryAid’s services and their value to the convenience sector workforce.

“Many staff members were unaware of GroceryAid but expressed deep appreciation for its support for colleagues facing hardship. We also distributed flyers, stickers, and posters in staff areas, and restrooms for maximum visibility.”

The initial response has been overwhelmingly positive, with staff feeling grateful to learn about available support and curious to learn more about accessing services or contributing donations, he added.

“Supporting GroceryAid aligns perfectly with our core value of fostering a strong community within the convenience sector. We’re proud to play a role in raising awareness for such a worthy cause,” he said.

GroceryAid is a registered benevolent society for people from all over the UK who have worked, or are working in the grocery industry, and need extra support to get by. Founded in 1857 the National Grocers Benevolent Fund has been trading under the GroceryAid name since October 2012.
