Wolverhampton store raises £400,000 for Good Causes

A Wolverhampton retailer was feted for raising more than £400,000 for Good Causes through National Lottery sales.

Nigel Railton, chief executive of National Lottery operator Camelot, presented Nirlep Hayre, owner of Mander News, with a plaque to celebrate the milestone.

Hayre said that he was proud of the achievement and of his store’s players. He added that The National Lottery is integral to his business, increasing footfall and, in turn, creating a higher turnover.

Each week, National Lottery players raise around £30 million for Good Causes. Over £39 billion has now been raised and more than 535,000 individual grants have been made across the UK.
