Two convenience stores in Stenhousemuir have been given permission to deliver alcohol along with groceries.

Usave, Ladeside Crescent in Stenhousemuir will start selling alcohol after being granted a new premises license by members of Falkirk Council’s licensing board on Wednesday (6).

According to local reports, members heard that the “typical community store” has been refurbished inside and has good CCTV and an electronic point of sale register, as required.

Its home delivery service will be offered using the Snappy Shopper app, which means no third party drivers are used.

Londis 326 Main Street in Stenhousemuir was also given permission to continue delivering alcohol as part of its home delivery service as it has been doing throughout the pandemic, reports said.

Members heard that the shop has offered the service, using the Snappy Shopper app, for nearly two years with no problems and were happy to make the change to its licence.
