The Lost Explorer Mezcal partners up for COP26 event

UK’s leading handcrafted artisanal mezcal The Lost Explorer Mezcal has collaborated with Voice for Nature and The Natural History Museum to produce a pop-up experience – The Nature Bar – within The New York Times Climate Hub in Glasgow during the COP26 conference this November.  The Nature Bar will be a unique physical space where key environmental opinion makers, activists, influential leaders and thinkers join to informally debate, discuss and discover solutions and actionable strategies to combat climate change and biodiversity loss.

The Nature Bar will feature a fresh Oaxacan inspired ambience, including a sustainable mezcal tasting experience supported by The Lost Explorer Mezcal. A selection of canapes made with locally sourced Scottish ingredients will also be served, paired specifically to complement the unique taste profile of The Lost Explorer’s range of mezcals.

Launched at the end of 2020, The Lost Explorer Mezcal has set out with the ambition to become the leading, sustainable mezcal and has recently further expanded its partnership with global charity, Voice for Nature Foundation, reinforcing The Lost Explorer Mezcal’s pledge to celebrate the earth and empower sustainable Mexican enterprise.

They have identified three Mexican organisations to support with projects that will have an immediate impact in Oaxacan communities this year. These projects include:

    • Supporting the installation of Isla Urbana’s rainwater harvesting systems within the remote Oaxacan communities of San José Tenango,
    • Supporting Women in Entrepreneurship in partnership with Sikanda’s WEAVE programme with seed capital funding for essential supplies and equipment for women-led businesses in Oaxaca
    • Supplying tools for the workshop of Noel Martinez, a renowned community leader in Oaxaca who runs an artisan residency centre for marginalised young families to teach them artisanal craft skills.

The Nature Bar will be open from Nov 4th – 7th with a packed schedule of live programming and entertainment featuring a diverse high-profile range of solution-driven speakers spanning exploration, science, technology, music, biomimicry, activism, art, conservation, indigenous worldview and sustainable business. Fun-filled evening entertainment will also include musicians, pub quizzes, spoken word and DJs. Contributors include Dr. Andrew Steer, Enric Sala, Ellie Goulding, Will Marshall, Janine Benyus, Dr. Sylvia Earle, Will Steger & Sir Richard Branson amongst others.

Ecologist, environmentalist, adventurer and Voice For Nature founder, David de Rothschild says: When we’re willing to slow down, listen and learn, Nature reveals all.  She engages our hearts, moves our emotions, and inspires our spirit. She not only provides us with the questions but she also shows us the answers. So it’s with this deep appreciation and mutual respect for Nature and all living systems that the Nature Bar was born as a true collaboration between the Voice for Nature Collective, The Natural History Museum & The Lost Explorer Mezcal.”

The Lost Explorer Mezcal is a handcrafted artisanal mezcal made from 100 per cent agave, cultivated in the sun-soaked Valles Centrales, Oaxaca in Mexico. Harvested in harmony with the elements and in tune with the rhythm of nature, the three uniquely profiled expressions, Espadín, Tobalá and Salmiana, seek to inspire people to celebrate the earth and live curiously.
