World food wholesaler Surya Foods has secured distribution rights to National Foods Limited, Pakistan’s leading food brand.

Established in 1970, National Foods is best known for its recipe mixes, pickles, table sauces and desserts, sold in over 40 countries and available in global chains including Walmart and Carrefour Market.

“The British market has a lot of potential for all international brands and we are very excited to serve this market in collaboration with Surya Foods,” said Abrar Hasan, chief executive of the National Foods.

Speaking about the new addition, Harry Dulai, managing director of Surya Foods, said: “There is a wonderful nostalgia associated with National and consumers who know the brand associate it with superior taste, quality and a healthy profile, for instance, investing in making its products healthier and safer for its consumers through the removal of starch, artificial colours etc.”

National produces 250 products spanning 12 categories, and is an integral part of professional and domestic kitchens across Pakistan.

National joins several prominent global food and beverage brands in the Surya Foods portfolio. Last year it added leading Pakistani ice cream soda brand Pakola, nutritious malt drink Hypermalt, Middle-Eastern super brand Rani, India heritage brand MTR and Polish ice cream giants Grycan to its line-up.

Surya Foods will be stocking all of the bestselling lines from National Foods gradually developing the overall range over time.
