Flying Trade Group, the parent company behind world food wholesaler Surya Foods and Surya Hotels, has secured a position in the ‘Sunday Times Grant Thornton TopTrack 250 league tables.’
It comes as the company’s basmati rice brand Laila Rice celebrated its best year ever in 2017 – climbing to a Top 3 place in the UK dry rice category.
Surya features in the UK Top Track 250 of Britain’s leading private mid-market growth companies and is the only food company in Essex to be named in the list.
The family business run by brothers Suki and Harry Dulai saw an increase of 16 percent in the last twelve months, taking its UK annual turnover in excess of £132 million.
The group operates across several sectors of the UK food and leisure industries – its main businesses including Surya Foods, one of the largest suppliers of authentic world foods in the UK, and Surya Hotels Ltd, a collection of twelve boutique hotels.
Commenting on the feat, Harry Dulai said: “We are thrilled that our UK operations have secured a place within the league tables appearing alongside a raft of national leading brands, we are truly delighted and thankful to our staff and customers.”
