SPAR UK has launched SPAR Wine Club for its retailers in an effort to raise the profile of its wine range.

The launch event in Manchester saw SPAR’s selected independent wine retailers gathering to kick off the new initiative.

These retailers will stock the core range and support SPAR national wine promotions, taking part in all the club’s activities.

The Wine Club aims to raise the quality credentials of the SPAR wine range, build sales in the wider wine category, and share best practice amongst retailers.

A raft of benefits are available to members, currently numbering 30, including the opportunity to travel the world on all-expenses paid, incentive-driven trips to some of the finest vineyards across the globe.

Other benefits include specialist wine education and training, exclusive invitations to consumer and trade wine shows, and benchmarking with SPAR’s Master of Wine, Philippa Carr.

“I am thrilled to be able to support SPAR’s Wine Club. This is a fantastic opportunity for independent SPAR retailers who are serious about increasing their wine sales,” Carr said.

“To have so many passionate retailers from Cornwall to Inverness supporting the growth of SPAR Brand wines is something we are really proud of.”

The member retailers will also receive bespoke in-store PoS, access to an exclusive portal on the SPAR website, plus dedicated WhatsApp and Facebook groups and a monthly newsletter.

We are all looking forward to learning more about the SPAR Brand range of wines, growing our sales and having a lot of fun along the way!”

The club will open for new membership applications in 2020.
