    Nisa touches benchmark in sustainability

Paper totalling more than 175 tonnes was saved last year thanks to a renewed focus on sustainability by Nisa Retail and its print supplier.

HH Global, who manage all Nisa’s marketing related print requirements including leaflets and point of sale, have made a series of production changes leading to significant sustainability improvements.

Since taking over the contract in the latter part of 2020, work has been ongoing to ensure all printing is done in the most sustainable way possible, with the high volume Nisa leaflet a priority.

The paper used for the leaflet has been standardised with all leaflets as well as magazines and POS now produced on the same FSC accredited paper, giving the reassurance that timber products originating from a forest are managed in a responsible and sustainable way.

Chris Walker, Offline Marketing Lead at Nisa, said: “Working with HH Global, the goal was to produce all our leaflets on FSC paper and to reduce the amount of paper waste in the production of the leaflet.

“We are absolutely delighted that a massive 174.592 tonnes of paper were saved in 12 months of production alongside a number of other key achievements, and we will continue to work closely with HH Global to make further sustainability gains over the coming year with some of our other products.”

    Nisa touches benchmark in sustainability

To date, changes to production of the Nisa leaflet has saved:

    • 1.592k tonnes of carbon or the emissions of 338 average cars per year
    • 19.87m litres of water, enough to fill 7.949 Olympic sized swimming pools
    • 3,250 trees, enough to cover 1.65 football pitches

Gary Hunter, Nisa’s account director at HH Global, said: “The changes we have implemented so far have seen brilliant sustainability gains and there is more to be done.

“HH Global has a clear commitment to sustainability, and we are continually identifying innovative solutions to reduce both carbon and cost.”
