Tapping into the growing consumer appetite for better quality sparkling wines, leading Italian sparkling wine brand Martini has registered a growth of 19.1 percent in value in Q1, outperforming the category, which is growing at 13.8 percent.
This follows both the launch of the Martini Collezione Speciale Prosecco sparkling wine in the UK last year and a renewed focus on the sparkling wine side of the Martini business, said the global brand in a statement.
Launched last year, the Martini Collezione Speciale Prosecco is made from handpicked grapes grown in the Veneto region and is the ultimate expression of the Glera grape. Only the very best grapes are selected and expert Martini winemakers oversee every step of the winemaking process, which ensures its superior taste and quality, noted the statement.
Martini’s sparkling wine range in the UK includes Martini Prosecco, Collezione Speciale Prosecco, Martini Rosé Demi Sec and Martini Asti, which is also in growth of 3.1 percent in value.
‘Martini have been at the heart of the sparkling wine category for over 150 years so it is fantastic to see our wines gain even more recognition and traction in the UK,” said Marco Mazzini, Global Director of Martini Sparkling Wine.
“Our aim is to spearhead the Italian sparkling wine segment which is the world’s fastest growing segment and is on its way to overtake French sparkling wine,” Mazzini added.
