Detectives have nabbed a man in connection with two shop robberies in Congresbury, Somerset.
The offender raided the stores within minutes of each other in the morning of 31 August, but the suspect was arrested in the evening the same day.
The robberies took place at a service station and nearby newsagents, with the man threatening the store staff hinting that he had a weapon concealed in his jacket.
Police said no one was hurt in either incident.
The suspect entered the service station at about 10.05am and the newsagents five minutes later, stealing quantities of cash and cigarettes before driving off in a vehicle.
The 31-year-old man was arrested shortly before 6pm following an examination of both premises and a review of CCTV footage, police said.
The man is also thought to be driving the vehicle while on drugs.
The suspect remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing, the police added.
