    Police were called to Pyramid Shopping Centre in Birkenhead before 11.30am

    A man who allegedly pulled a knife out on a woman and her baby after attempting to mug her at Birkenhead Town Centre has been arrested.

    Police were called before 11.30am today (Monday, 13 July) following reports of a man behaving anti-social outside the Pyramids Shopping Centre.

    An entrance to the shopping centre was sectioned off to carry out enquiries with witnesses.

    A 37-year-old man has since been taken into custody by officers after being escorted from the shopping premises by security staff shortly after the incident.

    The man has since been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and a public order offence.

    This the second major police incident at the Pyramids Shopping Centre following a man was seen on CCTV exposing himself at 8.20pm on Wednesday, 27 May.

    Images of a man who officers wish to speak to in connection of the offence has since been released.
