    Lindley shopkeeper assaulted in armed robbery

    A shopkeeper was assaulted by two armed robbers in Lindley, Huddersfield yesterday (March 9).

    The incident happened at Premier Stores on Acre Street at around 7.40pm.

    Police said the offenders were carrying a bladed weapon. They threatened and assaulted the shopkeeper before fleeing the store with cash and cigarettes.

    Officers are appealing for information on the two men who escaped in the direction of New Hey Road.
