Industry Leaders and Category Champions join forces with independent retailers at NFRN Commercial’s Conference

Members and trade partners of the National Federation of Retail Newsagents (NFRN) are due to assemble in Torquay from June 7-9 for the Annual Conference of the largest trade association in Europe.
NFRN Commercial is a wholly owned subsidiary of the NFRN and will host a session comprising presentations by key industry figures during the three day event.
The focus of NFRN Commercial’s session is brands and their importance to the independent retail sector. This session will take place on the morning of June 9.
NFRN Commercial's CEO Paul Baxter said industry speakers would include senior officials from Coca Cola and Philip Morris International, as well as Booker and Diamond Mist.
Diamond Mist is a relatively new supplier for NFRN Commercial and has been listed on the website for a number of weeks. Its Brand Manager Richard Russell will give a history of the rapid expansion of his brand, which is now listed within the top 5 electronic cigarette brands.
Philip Morris International will be represented by its Sales Director for the UK and Ireland, Jerry Margolis. In a market that has gone dark and is threatened by plain packaging and the illicit tobacco trade, Mr Margolis will address the challenge of protecting sales by offering solutions achieved through efficient stock range management and a winning formula that serves to protect tobacco sales.
Coca Cola will follow as the second speaker, with the soft drinks giant informing conference delegates on how it is delivering on its commitments in Great Britain and how this, in turn, will protect this important growing category. Coca Cola’s Associate Director for Public Affairs, Jim Fox, will deliver this presentation.
The third speaker will be Martin Swadling who, as Director of Premier, will address the importance of both product brands and store brands and how this impacts positively on in-store experiences.
