A Hampshire shopkeeper suffered serious injuries on Sunday (14) after he confronted two shoplifters, stated recent local reports.

According to reports, Raj Sunder, the owner of RJS convenience store in Eastleigh High Street, followed two shoplifters who are reported to have left without paying for cigarettes and tobacco.

He confronted them near the McDonald’s restaurant in Wells Place after which  he was punched in the head and was kicked while on the ground, report said. The shopkeeper has reportedly suffered massive head injuries because of the horrible assault.

Sunder, 52, who bought the store around two years ago, is still recovering and has not yet returned to work. Hampshire police have now launched an investigation.

The alleged attackers are said to be between 19 and 21-years-old.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary admitted of an assault at RJS Convenience store on Sunday around 3 pm.

Sunder’s daughter Serena took to social media to raise awareness of what happened.

“I just want to say a big thank you for all the love and kind messages that have been received in-person/over text with regards to my dad. As some of you may or may not know, my dad was severely beaten to the ground when he confronted two youths that stole from his shop (RJS),” she wrote.
