Following two robberies of McColl’s stores in Wigan, the Greater Manchester Police have made footage from the incidents available to the public as they hunt the culprits.

At around 3.30pm on July 30, two men armed with an axe, entered a shop on Newton Road in Lowton and used the weapon to threaten a shop assistant before forcing the till open.

Officers were also called to a separate incident the same evening at 10.50pm at a store on Atherton Road in Hindley. The men armed with a knife ran off with the contents of a cash register into an unknown direction.
