The Department for Business, Energy and Industry Strategy (BEIS) is encouraging businesses to take part in two training programmes which have been developed to help business owners learn new skills, reach more customers and boost their profile.

The first programme, Help to Grow: Management, offers senior business leaders management and leadership training through peer learning and support from a business mentor, Association Of Convenience Stores (ACS) said last week.

The course runs for 12 weeks and has been designed to fit alongside other work commitments. The programme is 90 percent funded by the government and is delivered by leading business schools across the UK.

The second programme, Help to Grow: Digital, has been developed to provide businesses with free and impartial advice on how they can use technology to boost their business.

Eligible businesses can get 50 percent off, up to £5,000, on approved Digital Accounting and Customer Relationship Management software, ACS said.
