Spar Scotland has unveiled a new lorry livery designed by eight year old Alisha Razzaq.
The Blantyre resident, winner of the retailer’s ‘design a lorry livery’ competition got to see her winning lorry design come to life last week, with a special delivery to Spar Blantyre on 25 May.
“It was so exciting to see the Spar lorry arrive at the store with my picture on it. It looks huge! I’m really happy with how it has turned out,” Alisha, who completed the picture during the lockdown, said.
“It’s bright and colourful with the sunshine, green grass, flowers and trees. I’m sure it will make everyone smile when they see it! I also can’t believe everyone is going to see that it was me who designed it!”
Michelle Razzaq, Alisha’s mum, added: “We are so pleased for Alisha! She is always drawing and colouring and to see one of her pictures on a Spar lorry makes us feel very proud.”
Spar Scotland said it has received hundreds of entries for the design competition announced last year for the first time by inviting customers to design livery for a Spar lorry.
“We had lots of entries from many budding artists from around Scotland but Alisha’s picture made us all smile,” Paula Middleton, marketing manager at Spar Scotland, commented.
“We are sure our colourful lorry will also make everyone smile when they see it delivering essential food and drink items to Spar stores around Scotland.”
