    Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society joins ACS

    ACS (the Association of Convenience Stores) is delighted to announce that Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society has joined ACS as retail members.

    Chelmsford Star is a co-op society operating across mid-Essex and was first established in 1867. It currently consists of 39 food stores (Co-op Food), two department stores (Quadrant), two travel agents (Co-op Travel) and nine funeral homes (Co-op Funeral Directors).

    ACS chief executive James Lowman said, “We are delighted to welcome Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society into retail membership, further strengthening our voice when making our case to Government on the key issues and challenges that our sector is facing. I know that Barry and his team will add to the richness of our discussions and events.”

    Chelmsford Star Co-operative CEO Barry Wood said, “I am really pleased that Chelmsford Star has joined ACS and we look forward to working with ACS on the issues that are important to the convenience sector as a whole.”
