    Calbee launches Trolls World Tour snacks

    Leading snack manufacturer Calbee UK has unveiled brand new Trolls World Tour products, coinciding with the at-home release of the movie.

    The new oven-baked crunchy chickpea sticks come in two child-friendly flavours, named after the much-loved characters in the film – Barb BQ Beef Rock Strings and Poppy’s Ketchup Pop Strings.

    The vegetarian and vegan friendly products have less than 72 calories per pack with green and amber GDAs, and the snacks are lower in fat and saturates than standard potato crisps.

    “We’re immensely excited to launch our new Trolls Word Tour products to coincide with the movie’s at-home release. This is a huge opportunity for Calbee UK particularly with a younger demographic which is brand new territory for us,” said Jon Wood, commercial director at Calbee UK.

    “As well as providing a healthier alternative for parents, the colourful packaging displays two of the movie’s lead characters appealing to young children. The healthy chickpea sticks are full of flavour and great tasting so we’re anticipating demand for the packs to be high.”

    Trolls World Tour, sequel to the 2016 blockbuster, was released ‘at-home’ on 6 April. The products will be available in 6x17g multipacks from May.

    The packs will display the Vegetarian Society Approved trademark. Two other leading brands in the Calbee UK portfolio –  Seabrook Crisps and Yushoi – already carry the Vegetarian Society logo from March.
