A cafe could be added to a popular north east shop if planning permission is granted.
Planning documents have been lodged with Aberdeenshire Council in a bid to convert the Village Store in Kirkton of Skene into a shop with a cafe.
The conversion would include the creation of a new disabled toilet within the shop as well as plumbing upgrade work.
Plans show that the coffee shop would have room for 30 people with additional seasonal seating outside. A wood burning stove would also be created and set into the fireplace and existing chimney.
The Village Store, located at 7 Kirkton Cottages, would continue to sell various goods as it does at the moment.
The application will be considered by Aberdeenshire Council’s planning department.
