Birds Eye has announced the promotion of Steve Challouma to General Manager UK effective from Wednesday 1st January, 2020.
Wayne Hudson, who has held the position of Managing Director UK & Ireland for just under four years and is a member of the Nomad Foods Executive Board, will in addition to his executive responsibilities for Birds Eye UK & Ireland, take accountability for the Findus businesses in the Nordics.
With the creation of a larger UK, Ireland and Nordics cluster, Steve Challouma, currently Marketing Director UK, will be promoted to General Manager for the UK business. Reporting into Hudson, Challouma will be responsible for Birds Eye, Goodfella’s, Aunt Bessie’s and all own label business in the UK.
Commenting on his new role, Challouma says: “It’s been a tremendous journey and I am looking forward to embarking on this new voyage. In the last two years, we have really shifted the dial in UK frozen foods with our distinctive brand campaigns, relaunch of our core icons and category leadership. The addition of Goodfella’s and Aunt Bessie’s in 2018 helped to almost double the size of the UK business and has added significant scale and breadth to the business. I am personally very passionate about the frozen foods category and its relevance for modern day lifestyles – and look forward to working to build on the successful turnaround and foundations that Wayne has led with the team over the last few years and to continue to realise its undoubted further potential for growth.”
