Bestway head of marketing and digital Salih Sheikh has left the business to join a food start-up as its chief marketing officer.

“This is something that he is keen to take on as he looks to continually focus on his growth and development, looking for opportunities to go out and build on his experience to benefit Bestway Wholesale in the future,” the group said in a statement.

Salih is son of Younus Sheikh, chairman of Bestway Wholesale and a founding director of the group.

Bestway has effected closer integration between its marketing and trading teams with its new appointment to replace Salih.

Mindy Mondair, senior marketing manager at the group will be succeeding Salih in the role of head of trade marketing, reporting to Bestway’s trading director, Kenton Burchell.

The communications and events team will now report directly to managing director Dawood Pervez.

Bestway has recently underwent a restructure which saw the Bestway Wholesale head office teams focusing more on wholesale, catering and pet businesses and a retail team, based in Crewe, assuming responsibility for the company owned, franchise and symbol group brands.

Earlier this month, Bestway has announced new initiatives to improve the service to both unaffiliated retailers and members of its best-one symbol group, following the move of the best-one brand to Bestway Retail .
