Mace

Palmer & Harvey McLane Ltd has 760 UK retail members, with an average store size of 1000 sq ft and an average store turnover of £10,500.

Members have access to Britain’s largest retail support network, including over 9,000 ambient, alcohol, chilled and frozen product lines with a further 60,000 available through third party direct to store scheme ACE, retail technology solutions through YP Electronics and crisps, snacks, cakes and biscuits from van sales operation Snacksdirect.

Fascia options include Mace, for c-stores; Mace Express, for forecourts and c-stores; Supershop, for CTNs; and Your Store, for c-stores in Northern Ireland. The four packages come in three tiers:

Vision, Focus and Standard. Vision is the top tier, offering a striking silver and blue signature fascia, neon lighting and illuminated pelmets. Focus has fewer features and Standard is the basic quality format.

There are no hidden charges for becoming a member, just a one-off joining fee of £250, plus the cost of fascia installation, subsidised by P&H. After that, membership fees start from £20 a week.

The minimum length of contract is four years and minimum drop requirement is from 150 outers per week. The company offers a cost effective financial package to suit most refurbishment investments, with third party direct-to-store scheme ACE offering up to seven weeks credit on all goods purchased.

P&H has a policy not to open an outlet within a one mile radius of an existing site of the same fascia. Sales representatives call on retailers every three weeks to discuss the latest promotional offers and ordering brochure.

Orders can also be made with the retailer’s local branch telesales team and through EPOS. Over 200 food and non-food lines are available through the company’s M-Brand own label, in addition to over 250 alcohol lines under the Winerite label.

P&H Chilled & Frozen provides access to over 1,500 fresh, chilled and frozen product in twice-weekly deliveries, plus the option to receive impulse ice cream orders daily. Fresh, chilled and frozen produce is also available through P&H third party scheme ACE.

Regional products are available through the P&H third party direct to store scheme, including eggs, milk, dairy, bread and morning goods. Free full colour point of sale including posters, shelf talkers and ticket strips, and up to 500 free consumer leaflets, are all available every three weeks to communicate promotions to local consumers.

P&H symbol members receive access to a three-weekly promotional programme that includes exclusive offers, deals and competitions. They can also take advantage of loyalty bonuses such as the Retailer Reward Scheme, which operate on the principle of the more you buy, the more you earn.
